What will now happen to the extreme racer’s car

Two weeks ago, a 36-year-old Swiss man was speeding along the Westautobahn in Upper Austria at 230 km/h in a BMW 530i. The extreme racer was stopped by the police and the car - thanks to an amendment to the law - was temporarily confiscated. Now the responsible district authority has decided what to do with the car.

"I wasn't even aware that I was driving so fast. Because of a death in the family, I was completely out of my mind," the 36-year-old extreme racer explained his crazy drive on the Westautobahn to the Swiss newspaper "20 Minuten". The man was flashed at 230 km/h and the car was temporarily confiscated.
