The day after his treble, Michael Gregoritsch was the subject of a veritable outpouring of praise: The ÖFB team striker, match-winner with three goals in the 6:1 thumping victory over Turkey, launched the sale of EURO 2024 stickers in advance as a "Topps advertising ambassador" in Vienna's Mariahilfer Straße on Wednesday. Many fans wanted to see the goalscorer live. Beforehand, the 29-year-old, who was in a great mood, took time for an interview with the "Krone" newspaper.
"Krone": How was the night after your first team treble?
Michael Gregoritsch: Not so good, a lot of thoughts go through your head, it's not an everyday occurrence. Scoring three times at the Happel is extraordinary. Even if many people grumble about the stadium, it's something extraordinary, certainly a highlight.
