In the west of Vienna, more and more restaurants are closing or are about to close. The lack of staff in particular is making it difficult to run a restaurant. Those that remain are in turn being overrun. The "Krone" spoke to several restaurateurs about the many problem areas in the industry.

At Easter, many Viennese are tempted to take their loved ones to a restaurant for lunch. But it is no longer so easy to get a table, especially on the outskirts of the city. The culprit is the dying out of restaurants. "More and more restaurants are closing in the area around the Vienna Woods," says Thomas Peschta, Chairman of the Vienna Gastronomy Club and a landlord himself. The popular excursion restaurant Mostalm, for example. The general conditions are simply becoming more and more difficult. It's often not the lack of guests that is the problem.
