Böhler evacuation begins, concept still missing

The Lorenz Böhler Hospital in Vienna is being evacuated. What happens next is more unclear than ever: the plan for "mini-Böhlers" at the AKH and in Meidling has fallen through. The city is preparing for temporary help. However, the decisive AUVA meeting on Wednesday evening gives hope for a happy ending.

When you come to the Lorenz Böhler Hospital as a patient these days, everything seems almost as usual. The teams are continuing to work as best they can. But away from the outpatient department, the clearing teams are calling the shots: where 65 patients were still being treated as inpatients in February, there is chaos of stacked boxes and furniture or a yawning emptiness.
