The first Alpine World Cup final over two weekends begins on Saturday in the 2025 World Championship venue. It's the big check for next year's title fights. The races are guaranteed despite the spring-like conditions, but nice weather is still needed. A "Krone" local inspection.

First of all: Saalbach-Hinterglemm won't get rid of the double-digit plus degrees in the next ten days - but the Alpine World Cup finals, the first over two weekends, are absolutely guaranteed.

The World Championships are due to take place here in eleven months' time. The tenth in Austria (including the 1964 & 1976 Olympics), the third in this millennium after St. Anton in 2001 and Schladming in 2013. And the end of the current Alpine season will be the mega test for these World Championships.
