From Tschanigraben in Burgenland to Röns in Vorarlberg, the SPÖ and FPÖ are holding internal party primaries for six months to choose their presidential candidate. Although there are clear favorites, the pre-election process costs hundreds of millions. At the same time, a gigantic media spectacle is taking place. Every party meeting in Unterstinkenbrunn and Oberstinkenbrunn is broadcast live on television.
