Residents complain:

No chance against “life-threatening situations on the doorstep”

A Friesach resident complains about life-threatening situations on his doorstep: Up to 1,500 cars a day hurtle through the 50 km/h zone at over 100 km/h in some cases. But a speed limit does not seem to be enforceable.

"I've been fighting for traffic calming since 2014," says Manfred Sauseng. He is a resident of Friesachstraße - the once quiet street in the municipality of Peggau that has become a commuter mile. He has been trying to get a 30 km/h zone for years, also for the sake of the children. But instead, the speed limit is 50, which not everyone adheres to.
