When Elke Kahr won the mayoral election in Graz in September 2021, it made headlines far beyond the borders of the Mur metropolis. The communist at the helm of Austria's second-largest city was reported on around the world - and people also wondered how this election could have come about. Even the venerable "New York Times" devoted a major portrait to Kahr. Now another chapter has been added to Kahr's international fame.
