Who struck a very special pose, who wants to work with Folkshilfe, and which artist can’t read sheet music. On the first day of the “Krone” Festival in Linz, the “Krone” mingled with the artists backstage and learned a few exciting secrets...

Just before her performance, she struck a Superwoman pose! “Then I take one more deep breath and tell myself: You can do this!” That’s what Viennese singer-songwriter Ella Stern did before she delivered a fantastic performance on the main stage at the “Krone” Festival, where she also performed her new song “Dummes Klavier” for the first time. “It was really cool,” beamed the Viennese newcomer, who didn’t celebrate too much afterward, however, explaining: “I’m a bit of a homebody—I like to crochet and would rather be at home in my living room than go out partying.”

Coca-Cola Before Every Performance
Caro Fux does that from time to time. The former teacher revealed not only that she fuels up with Coca-Cola before a performance, but also that she can’t read sheet music. “But it doesn’t matter. I just found people who can do that, so it works out anyway,” the Styrian smiled.

Meanwhile, another Amadeus Award winner, folkshilfe frontman Florian Ritt, was looking forward to his “home game”: “Our Paul lives in Urfahr, so he can walk or take the tram; Gabriel just has to float down the Danube from Ottensheim—and I’ve got a good train connection,” laughed the cheerful Ritt, whose band had recently taken separate vacations.

Three million fans on social media
“We haven’t seen each other for almost two weeks—and we’re already missing each other again,” said Ritt, whose band was involved in a “flirtation”: “It would be awesome to record a song in dialect with folkshilfe,” came a “proposal” from Alex Eder, the heartthrob with over three million followers on social media, whose performance unfortunately had to be interrupted.
