How much drivers of e-cars will have to pay in future
The new motor-related insurance tax will cost owners of e-vehicles around 400 euros per year on average from April 1. The calculation is very complicated - the "Krone" has taken a look at how high the costs will ultimately be for customers.

On average, this will amount to around 400 euros per vehicle per year. Hybrid cars, which are already subject to insurance tax for the combustion engine part, will also become slightly more expensive. Electric motorcycles (but not e-mopeds) will also be taxed in future.
However, the amount of tax that will have to be paid together with the third-party liability premium in future varies greatly depending on the model. For the majority of all-electric cars, the amount will be less than 500 euros - but the range is around 70 to 2000 euros. You can find out where you stand here.
