Austria needs immigration into the labor market. However, the current figures suggest that this has clearly gone in the wrong direction in recent years. The "Krone" took a closer look at the construction sites. 

Austria's integration policy is facing a crucial test. The latest figures paint a bleak picture: 155,000 people in Vienna are unemployed or in training programs, 75 percent of whom have a migrant background. In the capital's elementary school, every second first-grader does not speak German. The number of exceptional pupils is also exploding in the other federal states.
