Accompanying someone as they die may sound like a mammoth task. Hospice companion Katja Prettenthaler explains why she wants to accompany people in what is probably their most difficult hour.

Not adding more days to life, but giving more life to the days - Katja Prettenthaler has been committed to this idea. She has been working as a volunteer hospice companion in the Bregenz team for two years and finds her work a wonderful experience. She draws her motivation to care for people at the end of their lives from a deep sense of gratitude and a love for older people and their stories.
