Vienna's kindergartens are short of staff like never before. The accusation is that the city is not doing enough about it. Suggestions for quick help are on the table and meet with approval across the political spectrum.

The city reacts huffily to questions about the staff shortage in nurseries, which has reached an all-time high - not even counting sick leave. According to Karin Broukal from MA 10, a shortage of skilled workers is a problem everywhere at the moment, and particularly in elementary education throughout Europe. In addition, a "comprehensive package of measures" has been put together anyway.
