“You can’t really escape AI”

Human and artificial intelligence meet musically and visually at Mind Machines in Carinthia. First at the world premiere at the Klagenfurt City Theater and then at the AI Symposium in St. Veit. In this interview, Dennis Brandner from visualSmusic talks about the tension between AI and "real" music.

"Krone": How did Mind Machines come about?
Dennis Brandner : A good year ago, the idea came up that we wanted to do a project. I had been working on the topic of AI for some time, but only out of personal interest and from a philosophical point of view. When ChatGPT came along, it was immediately clear that it would influence the music sector. At first we were flying blind, trying out everything we came across.
