Graz has to make big savings: The upcoming budget cuts for 2025 are also causing heated discussions in the sports sector. 186 sports clubs are on pins and needles. The consequences, especially for young talent, could be dramatic.

The city of Graz is facing budget cuts in 2025 - following an information report on the evaluation of the sports strategy for the municipal councils, there is now an outcry across the sports landscape of the Styrian capital: 700,000 euros are to be cut from the total sports budget (currently 5.3 million euros). This is to be decided in December.
