15-year-old became a world championship sensation “by mistake”

The youngest water ski world champion of all time comes from a high valley in Tyrol: 15-year-old Alina Bühl from Thierse went from a beginner to the new star of the scene in record time.

Alina Bühl hasn't quite realized yet that she is now world champion. And the youngest ever in the history of water skiing. "Accidentally," laughs the 15-year-old from Thierse. Because it wasn't actually planned for the schoolgirl to take part in the world championships in Poland. It was only a few weeks earlier that Alina received the invitation from the Austrian Water Ski and Wakeboard Association.
