Everyone knows the top candidates. But who are the men and women who are pulling the strings behind the scenes? The "Krone" presents the "masterminds in the second row". This time, Green Party Vice-Chairman Stefan Kaineder talks about the concreting over, new unity and whether he will become the new party leader. 

Stefan Kaineder contradicts what many people imagine a "typical Green" to be. The 39-year-old studied theology, grew up on a farm in a Christian-social household and is a genuine pragmatist who prefers hard-hitting results to philosophical debates. In the current election campaign, the Mühlviertel native, deputy federal spokesperson for the Greens and successor to Rudi Anschober as state councillor in Upper Austria, is playing a key role.
