Hobby pilot: “I go to the cellar to fly”

Manfred Marbler from Styria was denied his dream job as a pilot. Nevertheless, the 64-year-old flies a Boeing across Europe every day. His self-built simulator costing 50,000 euros also helped him to beat cancer.

"Sit in the pilot's seat, we're flying from Innsbruck to Salzburg." The Boeing 737 taxis into position on the runway. Just don't confuse the brake with the accelerator pedal. The many buttons are confusing, the take-off clearance from the tower makes you nervous. Your hands are shaking, cold sweat is on your forehead.
