Why there are second-class mothers for the AMS Lower Austria

The Public Employment Service is likely to refrain from demanding repayment of training allowances (almost) everywhere, which particularly affects young mothers. Only in Lower Austria are they sticking to their guns. Now the Second President of the Provincial Parliament is calling for the AMS Lower Austria and its boss Sandra Kern to take action and is considering a lawsuit against the board.

Young mothers and people in eight Austrian federal states are celebrating successes who had received training allowance from the AMS during their educational leave and suddenly had to pay it back afterwards. But in the country between Enns and Leitha, the hard line is still being taken.
