Pregnant despite sterilization - actually impossible. But that is exactly what happened to a Styrian woman with African roots. Her fifth miracle was born in May. Now she is taking action against the doctors and, together with lawyer Karin Prutsch-Lang, is demanding compensation. A controversial supreme court ruling provides a tailwind.

A Styrian woman with African roots had already given birth to four children when she decided to take the final step: In the course of a caesarean section at Feldbach Regional Hospital in 2018, she had herself sterilized to ensure she would never be able to get pregnant again. She could not afford another child financially.
