Pixel 9 Pro Fold: Can Google make a foldable smartphone?

The US internet giant Google is currently launching its new generation of smartphones in Austria - and in addition to the classic models in the Pixel 9 series, there is also a foldable device with a flexible OLED display. But does the foldable model, which is almost twice as expensive and transforms from a cell phone into a mini tablet, pay off in everyday use? Krone+ has the test.

Google's foldable smartphone with 256 gigabytes of storage costs at least 1900 euros, with double the storage the price rises to 2030 euros. This means that the luxury device costs almost twice as much as the regular model and a few hundred euros more than the other models in this year's Pro range, which is available in both large and small sizes. Although the name suggests that the features should be identical to the other Pro models apart from the foldable display, the expensive foldable phone has its drawbacks in some respects.
