Lungau residents successfully rely on solar energy

Sustainable and affordable: two friends and neighbors have founded an association in St. Michael/Lungau. Their energy community sells self-produced green electricity from photovoltaics and hydropower - cheaper than the big competition.

There are only very few days in the year when Peter Lassacher does not produce electricity. On his farm high above St. Michael, photovoltaic modules are installed on practically every sunny surface. Andreas Ferner, who lives not far from Lassacher, has a similar situation. That's why the two of them joined forces at the beginning of the year, brought other Lungau residents on board and founded an energy community.
