In August 2020, a hail plane crashed in western Styria. Both occupants survived by the skin of their teeth after a dramatic rescue operation. What followed is a touching life and love story.

The wounds have healed, but the scars are visible and remind us of the fateful 22 August 2020, when Gerhard Thierschädl was a co-pilot in a hail plane that got caught in a doomsday storm over the Gaberl. The lashing hailstorm and the strong gusts and downdrafts made it impossible to fly around the impending disaster in order to land safely.
