Between all the TV shows, petting zoo headlines and Opera Ball guests, one thing was almost forgotten: How Lugner wanted to become Federal President twice. In addition to these less successful attempts, the "Krone" has also unearthed a heroic anecdote at a dizzying height ... 

As we have already reported, Richard Lugner loved to show himself from his most diverse sides, surround himself with (young) women, was considered a valued employer and fortunately never took himself too seriously. What has hardly found a place in all the curious reporting about the nation's society darling, however, are his excursions into politics - and one above the clouds, where he was confronted by a gunman.
