On Saturday, scenes took place in Harmsdorfpark in Graz that every parent fears: Nine-year-old Jan just wanted to play soccer with friends when suddenly the neighbor's dog jumped on him and bit his ear. His mother is in shock - now the police are investigating.

Only recently, a brutal dog attack in Tillmitsch in southern Styria caused consternation. This time it was a nine-year-old boy in a housing estate near Harmsdorfpark in Graz. Still in shock, his mother begins to talk about what happened at the weekend: "I was upstairs in our kitchen making a tiramisu while Jan was playing soccer downstairs with his best friend," says Barbara Jungwirth.
