Money for the “death route” is available from the federal government

The money for the safety upgrade of the Friesach road is ready at the ministry. However, the state does not want to accept the election sweetener and wants to resume negotiations with the next federal government on the expansion of the "road of death".

Friesacher Straße (B317) is one of the most accident-prone roads in the whole of Austria. This is why the necessary safety upgrades have been discussed and negotiated for years - but so far in vain. The point of contention is still the financing. The construction project is expected to cost up to 250 million euros.
