Celina K. makes serious accusations against a Viennese hospital: she came for a safe birth and left severely traumatized. "One doctor jumped on my stomach, one cut me open," she says. Violence in the delivery room is a systematic problem, as Krone+ reveals in a multi-part series.

When Celina K. became pregnant, she knew that she absolutely wanted to give birth naturally. It was too late for a birthing center, as she had actually wanted. The gynecologist she was being treated by in Vienna works as a senior physician at a large clinic and recommended that she give birth there. "As a first-time mother, I didn't know my way around and blindly trusted my doctor," says Celina K. "It would have been important to have a midwife, but I wasn't informed about this."
