The Brenner Base Tunnel (BBT) is the largest single transport project in the history of Tyrol and is intended to help solve the decades-long transit problem. One of many logistical monster tasks: The concrete elements for the inner shell (segments) have to be delivered from Germany for the Pfons-Brenner construction lot.

In contrast to the neighboring construction lot H41 (Sillschlucht-Pfons), the segments in construction lot H53 (Pfons-Brenner) cannot be produced directly on the construction site. "The reason for this is the limited space available," says Christoph Mellitzer, deputy site manager at BBT SE for the Pfons-Brenner section.
