Roaring floods, wedged cars, dramatic minutes: The pictures from Deutschfeistritz in Styria went around the world. A couple was rescued from the roof of their car with a ladder. The Styrians thank their lifesavers and tell their incredible story. 

Standing here today, it's hard to believe what happened just a few weeks ago: A quiet, dry spot in the middle of Deutschfeistritz, next to the narrow stream that babbles tranquilly, the sun shining hotly on the backdrop. This tranquillity ...

And yet, on June 8, a flood disaster occurred in this place, with scenes that are otherwise only known from disaster movies: raging floods, cars swept away, meters of water. They immediately recall the terrible moments that Theresia Steininger and her partner Erich Gross experienced and survived thanks to a courageous family.
