Airports around the world were in chaos due to an IT breakdown. How do airports actually work? A look behind the scenes in Graz shows: In the sweltering heat of the apron, you need "lard", but in the tower you need a cool head.

Sweat is pouring, the hold is filling up: one fully packed suitcase after another is scanned, placed on the small conveyor belt from the transport trolley and then disappears into the belly of the aircraft, which will take off for Frankfurt in a few minutes. The pieces of luggage give an idea: Many passengers are heading off on their summer vacation.
