Is Austria selling off its industrial giants?

While the world looks to the USA to see how things are going there with Trump, a thriller is being played out in Austria over important industrial holdings. The first voices are being raised calling for the politicization of these holdings - a dangerous path in view of the tough markets and partnerships.

The current drama was triggered by VAMED, which originally belonged 100 percent to the state, 77 percent was sold to the German giant Fresenius in 1996 and has now finally been sold off completely. In the course of time, VAMED has realized 1000 projects in 98 countries, but now other gentlemen are sitting at the table.

But what will happen with the other state holdings?
