Like two hungry tigers in the fight for medals
Athletics, rather than soccer or tennis, traditionally takes center stage at the Summer Olympics. This time, Austria can send two hot medal contenders into the race in this highly competitive sport: both discus giant Lukas Weißhaidinger and javelin thrower Victoria Hudson are dreaming of a big throw in Paris.
The discus man from Upper Austria has already immortalized himself in Tokyo in the illustrious circle of only eight red-white-red medal winners in athletics to date. After two mixed seasons, Weißhaidinger made a timely comeback this year, shocking one or two of his rivals with silver at the European Championships in Rome. The risk of changing his technique once again in the Olympic year and getting more speed again has already paid off.
