The coronavirus pandemic was not just a curse for local retailers in Vienna: in response, customers deliberately strengthened the "store around the corner" with their purchases. Has the rise in prices now wiped that out? Krone+ asked around among store owners.

During the coronavirus pandemic, regional trade in Vienna has increased significantly. Many people consciously wanted to support local businesses in order to strengthen the regional economy and secure jobs. But what is the situation two years on? Has the trend remained or has inflation wiped everything out? We spoke to customers and retailers.
