Stranded in war: What is Austria doing for me?

War is raging in Israel. Hostages are being captured and tortured. Austrian citizens are among them. Repatriations are in full swing. The "Krone" asked lawyer Sascha Flatz what my country can do for me in a war zone. The answers will not always make things easier for those affected.

Stolen, robbed or injured in an accident in another country - the first port of call should be the Austrian embassy. Even if war breaks out. Under the Consular Protection Act, Austria is obliged to provide its citizens with the best possible support.

However, this does not automatically include repatriation from a war zone such as Israel. This was decided by the European Court of Justice. And what does the future hold for terrorists once the war is over?
