Billions of euros have already been invested in Seestadt Aspern, but the expansion of the new district in the north-east of the city has stalled. Here's what's behind it.

Seestadt Aspern in the north-east of Vienna is one of the largest urban development areas in Europe. By the 2030s, a city for more than 25,000 people and over 20,000 jobs is to be built here on a total area of 240 hectares. However, the further expansion of the new district has hit a major snag. The reason for this?
