The basic rule for burglars is to explore the target property first and then strike if no one is at home. Tricks such as sticky tape on door corners are long gone: anyone who thinks that the new methods have anything to do with high-tech is mistaken. There is a method that is as simple as it is nasty that criminals use to "go on tour".

Is someone away from home or even on vacation for a few days? If burglars notice this, these apartments or houses become veritable "self-service stores". In the past, victims were spied on by sticking plastic strips or matches in the door gap or placing stones, branches and cans in the driveway.

Now there is another trick: anyone who is familiar with this new criminal scam has been warned! And no, it's not a high-tech method - the trick is very easy to spot!
