Quarry residents: “Constant noise from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.”

Noise, dust and a feeling of fear: after the blasting accident in 2021, the residents of Leitendorf in Leoben, Styria, no longer want to accept their situation. Hundreds of people live right next to a quarry. And now the situation could even get worse.

The people of Leoben remember the accident at Galgenberg in July 2021 with horror. After a blasting operation, stones were hurled at the settlement in Leitendorf: a woman was hit in the head and injured, the boulders damaged house walls and gardens.
