Director makes the story of glass vulnerable

The glass industry long shaped the border region of Austria and the Czech Republic. First united, the Iron Curtain then divided the country, which is rich in wood and quartz sand. In Nagelberg in the Waldviertel, director Thomas Macho now tells the story of the former glass town - with its own brewery and "Bierkonen" as its own currency. But read for yourself.

There are many buildings in the Waldviertel that bear witness to the rise and fall of large industries. Rarely, however, is there a community that is still so strongly influenced by this as is the case in Brand-Nagelberg and its glass production.
