Cornelia Hütter:
“An adrenaline shock, I just had to get out”
On Thursday, downhill World Cup winner Cornelia Hütter traveled to Vienna to open the "Styrian Spring" at Rathausplatz. Beforehand, the 31-year-old took time out for "Krone" to talk about the emotional World Cup final, how she invests her prize money, vacation plans and what is important to her in her private life.
"Krone": Conny, it's been almost two weeks since Saalbach - what has happened since then?
Cornelia Hütter: In the first week, a lot of things came at me, which almost overwhelmed me. On a positive note, the encouragement and joy of others was really cool, so many people were happy for me. But I had a kind of adrenaline shock, couldn't sleep well and just had to get out afterwards. With a heavy heart, I even skipped the Easter snack this year and went on a short vacation - I actually slept through Easter there. Everything that had built up over the season fell away.
