An indictment by the public prosecutor's office in Klagenfurt is politically highly explosive - because it has nothing to do with Austria, but is about a bloody deed in Russia. The Russians demanded the extradition of a murder suspect, the judiciary refused and is now supposed to clarify the age-old case itself in Carinthia.

Day after day, news of murder, torture and war shake Russia. Yet the exchange of information between authorities apparently continues as normal. The Russian judiciary has turned to the Austrian courts with a request for assistance - and the Klagenfurt Regional Court, of all places, is now the scene of another Russian drama.
