The days of LIVA and Brucknerhaus director Dietmar Kerschbaum are probably numbered for good: Following the emergence of gross irregularities at the Linz cultural institution, Mayor Klaus Luger (SPÖ) will decide today on the future of the artistic director. Even before the meeting, it was clear that the cultural manager would be suspended (and kicked out?).
The list of misconduct criticized by the Linz City Control Office is long: the artistic director of the Brucknerhaus, Dietmar Kerschbaum, is said to have used various constructs to line his own pockets during his time in office - the "OÖ-Krone" reported on this.
Today, Friday, the future of the renowned tenor and cultural manager will be decided. But as we heard hours before the meeting, there is practically no chance for him. From the Mayor of Linz and LIVA Supervisory Board Chairman Klaus Luger (SPÖ) downwards, no one believes that he will be able to refute the accusations.
