Getting help from the stars
Sinner still unbeaten in 2024 – thanks to Tomba and Rossi
14 matches, 14 wins - Jannik Sinner has yet to be beaten in tennis this year and is aiming for his third title in a row this week in Indian Wells. In the run-up to the event, Italy's new sporting hero sought help from prominent compatriots. For example, he asked former stars Alberto Tomba, Valentino Rossi and Giorgio Chiellini for tips.
Jannik Sinner was already showing tremendous development at the end of last year. The South Tyrolean won his first Masters title in Shanghai, beat tennis king Novak Djokovic in the preliminary round at the ATP Finals, then lost to Djokovic in the final, but kept the last word for himself at the Davis Cup and finished 2023 with a major triumph.
Sinner seemed to have taken a huge step forward, especially mentally and physically, traveling to the Australian Open this year as one of the favorites and promptly winning his first Grand Slam title. The long-time prodigy had fulfilled his promise.
