The number of drug victims is increasing dramatically in Lower Austria. The reasons for this are varied and clear, as head of the criminal investigation department Stefan Pfandler confirms. The "Krone" knows the details. 

A look at the latest figures sets alarm bells ringing, and not just for the police. This is because the number of drug-related deaths has been rising steadily in recent years. While there were "only" 15 in 2016, last year there were already 60 victims who had consumed narcotics before they died. And the fatal trend is continuing: Because the number of deaths in the first two months of this year is already in double figures.
