Become the Rosenburg family of lords and ladies!
Ever wanted to be a lord or lady of the castle yourself? “Krone” makes it possible! At the grand knights’ tournament at Rosenburg on October 3, we’re looking for a very special “Krone” family to serve as lords of the castle. The winners will enjoy a princely lunch with the Hoyos family, seats of honor at the tournament, and plenty of medieval adventures.
Kronen Zeitung als bevorzugte Google-Quelle hinzufügen When knights on horseback cross swords, jugglers provide entertainment, and the historic Rosenburg transforms into a world of myths and legends, it’s knight tournament time again in the Waldviertel. On October 3 and 4, as well as October 10 and 11, the tournament grounds will be all about the grand EXCALIBUR spectacle. The highlight is a spectacular staged battle between good and evil—complemented by horse dressage, acrobatics, and archery.
The Middle Ages Up Close
The EXCALIBUR Knights’ Tournament transforms Rosenburg Castle into a “gateway to another time” on several weekends in October. Alongside knights and their horses, elves, nymphs, shield maidens, and Merlin create a medieval atmosphere. For children, there’s also a squire school where young visitors can train to become knights or damsels.
Be the Lords of the Castle for a Day
For one family, October 3 will be a very special experience: Together with Rosenburg Castle, we’re searching for the 2026 “Crown” Castle Lords family. On this day, up to six family members will not only get a glimpse behind the historic walls but will become part of the action themselves. The winning family will be officially welcomed at Rosenburg Castle and will have lunch with the Hoyos family. This includes a personal meet-and-greet with the lords of the castle as well as a guided tour of the castle museum.
The main highlight comes next at the jousting tournament: The family will receive seats of honor and will even be involved in the medieval spectacle—for example, during the official welcome or right by the throne during the tournament. “Krone” Bonus Card holders receive a 20% ticket discount per cardholder upon presenting a valid “Krone” Bonus Card at the ticket office.
