Alarm in the Mühlviertel region: Woman found shot dead

Shock in the Mühlviertel region of Upper Austria: On Saturday evening, a 41-year-old woman was found dead in her home in the market town of Aigen-Schlägl – she had allegedly been killed by several gunshots. The police investigation is in full swing.

The Red Cross received the emergency call at around 6:45 p.m. Within a very short time, numerous police patrols and emergency services arrived, blue lights illuminated the otherwise quiet local streets, and the area around the detached house in the Rohrbach district was cordoned off over a large area.

What exactly happened in the hours before the bloody deed is still completely unclear. In any case, investigators secured evidence late into the night, interviewed possible witnesses, and combed the crime scene for clues. The authorities initially kept the identity of the victim and details about the possible perpetrator under wraps. It has since been confirmed that the woman (an Austrian citizen) died as a result of gun violence. Initially, there were many indications that it was a suicide, but then the victim's 12-year-old daughter suddenly incriminated the victim's 43-year-old partner. He was subsequently arrested!

However, many questions remain unanswered: Who is actually behind the crime? Was there a personal motive? The investigation is currently in full swing, but the police are still being quite cautious. The only thing that is clear is that a tragic death on Valentine's Day has shaken the region and left behind a crime that is now being investigated with great urgency. The Red Cross crisis intervention team was also called in.

Terrible series of events in Upper Austria
The current case in the Mühlviertel region is one of a series of gruesome acts of violence in Upper Austria in the early part of this year. Just a week ago on Friday, an 82-year-old man in Lengau shot his granddaughter (30) in the stomach and then committed suicide.

The following day, it was reported that a 51-year-old man in Wels had killed his daughter (19) and then himself. Investigations are also ongoing into the murder of a real estate agent in Harrachstraße in Linz.
