On Valentine's Day, couples in love celebrate their happiness, and for many, small gifts are part of this. This in turn benefits retailers. If you're still looking for the perfect gift idea, Krone+ reveals which presents will really score points. Attention: Flowers are not number 1!
Valentine's Day is just around the corner and has long since become a fixed date not only in the calendars of many lovers, but also in those of florists and confectioners. According to the latest Consumer Check by the Austrian Retail Association in cooperation with Reppublika Research, two thirds of Austrians are planning to buy gifts for this occasion this year. "On average, 70 euros will be spent on gifts. Last year it was 71 euros, and three years ago this figure was as high as 84 euros. Despite the decline, the additional income for retailers of around 150 million euros is respectable," says Rainer Will, Managing Director of the Austrian Retail Association, summarizing the results.
