Air traffic controller: “Overtime is the order of the day”

Passenger numbers are at record levels, but the number of air traffic controllers is not growing with them. A long-standing tower employee tells the "Krone" about his day-to-day work.

Without them, there would be no air traffic, no safety in the airspace. We are talking about air traffic controllers. 350 of them work throughout Austria, 50 of them at the tower at Vienna-Schwechat Airport, another 50 in approach and departure control.
