How fraudsters lure their victims into a trap again

High profits with low risk - this is the promise investment fraudsters use to lure their victims into a trap. Once they have fallen into the trap, you would think that they would be immune to further damage - but the criminals have found a perfidious trick to rip off their former "customers" again.

The promises made by fraudsters are often too good to be true - and yet many people regularly fall victim to them in their search for lucrative investment opportunities. The Austrian Financial Market Authority observed a 26.2% increase in the number of unauthorized alleged financial service providers in 2023 (2023: 106, 2022: 84). The Federal Criminal Police Office has also recorded an upward trend in recent years.
