Questions for party leaders
How long should you have to wait for a doctor’s appointment?
Vienna votes on April 27, so politicians can deal with the health issue earlier. We asked them all about it.
Vienna's doctors are among the best in the world - but you have to get hold of one first. Entire neighborhoods without a family doctor, patient lockdowns in many surgeries, often no adequate care for children far and wide, in the Donaustadt clinic, Viennese wait 56 weeks for a hip replacement, 61 weeks for a new knee.
Outpatient clinics are stormed
And if there is no doctor to be found far and wide, many march into the already overcrowded outpatient clinics of the hospitals with the smallest of aches and pains. Others have to dig deep into their pockets to get quick medical help in the private sector. Things can't go on like this. But what ideas do our politicians have? Those who are already in charge and those who want to play a role in possible future coalitions after the elections. We asked them.
