Will there soon be a deportation airport in Linz?

The FPÖ candidate for mayor of Linz, Michael Raml, is making waves with an explosive proposal: He wants to establish the airport in Hörsching as an Austrian deportation hub. A separate terminal for repatriations is even to be built for this purpose - the "Krone" is aware of the plans.

"Hörsching Airport has ideal transport connections and offers great potential with its military-civilian infrastructure," explains Raml. "The current upswing at the airport due to Ryanair flights shows how important this hub is. Why not use this momentum to drive forward a project that is not only economically relevant, but also in terms of security policy?"
